Selena and I have a special relationship. She is my niece, born on Feb. 29th, Leap year, and only a year younger than I am. My sister, and oldest of the 5 kids, and my mother were almost pregnant at the same time. I believe Selena and I were both 'good oopsies' to both my mom and sister. But being so close in age, while my other siblings gap between us, we were close from the start.
Selena has always been my best friend, she was actually my 'best woman' instead of having a best-man in my wedding. She is more of a sister to me throughout my life. She has 3 beautiful daughters and an awesome husband, Scott. Scott and I were in the same grade and friends throughout high-school.
Today, the 4 of us spend a lot of time together. Lots of laughs, some tears, but mostly laughter. We can all be ourselves around each other... like truly ourselves with no worry of judgement. I think that is so unique in friendship and family.
